Anyone who is an administrator of one or more Web Publishing sites must follow the university’s official Website Accessibility Policy and make necessary updates so all website content is compliant.
How will this affect me?
On November 1, 2020, any NYU Web Publishing site that does not meet NYU’s Website Accessibility Policy requirements will be hidden from public view and will only be visible to that site’s administrators until it is fixed. To avoid this inconvenience, follow the instructions below to update your site(s) as soon as possible.
What do I need to do?
Review this information about how to make your Web Publishing site accessible. You must update your site by no later than November 1, 2020. The minimum action required to meet compliance is to switch your site’s theme to any theme on the current list of approved themes, all of which are digitally accessible.
Why does this matter?
NYU considers it imperative to design for inclusivity and to provide websites and digital resources that are accessible for everyone, including those with disabilities — whether permanent, temporary, or situational. Accordingly, NYU has adopted the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA standards. Please refer to NYU’s Digital Accessibility website and the policy noted in the introduction of this message for more information.
