Accessibility checker to be replaced

The plugin used for checking site content for accessibility compliance is changing to an improved option.

On February 13, 2020, the Web Publishing Service will replace the feature used for testing accessibility compliance from “NC State Accessibility Helper” to “Tota11y”.

Tota11y examines your information, highlights possible issues, suggests actions to take, and offers improved features for making your content meet accessibility standards.

How this will affect you

All users who author content must complete their accessibility checks by using the comparable features of the Tota11y plugin. NC State Accessibility Helper is being deprecated and will no longer be active in the Web Publishing environment.

What you need to do

  1. Click the new eyeglasses icon at the bottom left of your browser window
  2. Read about Tota11y’s features in the knowledge base article, Checking your content for accessibility compliance.
