Nick Klein, 2025
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Psychology and Social Intervention program, with a specialty in education policy, in the Applied Psychology department at New York University’s Steinhardt school. I am also an Institute of Education Sciences fellow (2021-2025).
My scholarship bridges three intersecting areas: families’ engagement with education systems, the design of those systems and structures, and innovative programs and tools that foster belonging and expand access to opportunity.
I specifically focus on:
- Understanding how caregivers support their children’s development and access to education.
- How education systems can:
- Be more responsive to families’ needs and, in turn, increase their access to educational opportunity.
- More effectively implement programs and internal monitoring procedures to foster children’s development.
My research has mostly focused on caregiving and systems supporting early childhood education and care.
