Farm Forward

August 5, 2020 by bb53

https://www.farmforward.com/#!

From the website:

“Farm Forward was founded in 2007 as the nation’s first nonprofit devoted exclusively to end factory farming and our work improves the lives of 400,000,000 farmed animals annually.

“How?

“Farm Forward implements innovative strategies to promote conscientious food choices, reduce farmed animal suffering, and advance sustainable agriculture.

“Changing Farming

Promoting agriculture that combines the best in traditional husbandry and animal welfare science to increase the market share of higher welfare, sustainable, independent farms.

Eliminating the worst practices in factory farming.

“Changing Policy

Advocating an acute reduction in the consumption of factory-farmed meat, fish, eggs, and dairy by encouraging conscientious consumer and institutional decision making.

“Changing Narrative

Supporting interdisciplinary research and undergraduate teaching about the cultural significance of animals and animal agriculture.

Stimulating the production of essays, books, films, and religious activities that raise awareness about the problems in animal agriculture and the deeper cultural issues behind them.”

Carbon Neutral Cities Alliance

July 10, 2020 by bb53

https://carbonneutralcities.org/

From the website:

“The Carbon Neutral Cities Alliance (CNCA) is a collaboration of leading global cities achieving carbon neutrality before 2050 — the most aggressive GHG reduction targets undertaken anywhere by any city.

“It is possible for cities to achieve their interim carbon reduction targets through incremental improvements to existing systems, but achieving carbon neutrality will require radical, transformative changes to core city systems.

“The Alliance aims to address what it will take for leading international cities to achieve these deep emissions reductions and how they can work together to meet their respective goals more efficiently and effectively.

“These cities collaborate to share lessons in planning for and implementing deep carbon reductions and opportunities to accelerate best practices in deep decarbonization. This is how we do it:

“Developing Carbon Neutral Planning and Implementation Standards

“Supporting Deep Decarbonization Innovations

“Advancing Transformative Change in Key Urban Areas

“Speaking with a Common Voice

“Advancing a “Next Wave” of Carbon Neutral Cities”
