The course will follow a flipped model. Lecture contents will be delivered each week through short videos, and there will be three in person meetings: two lectures (MW or TTh) to discuss the topics of the videos in more details with your instructor, and once on Friday for the recitation and the quiz with your TA. Each week will be organized as follows:
-
-
- Videos for the upcoming week will be available each week by Thursday. With these videos, the new WebAssign will be released as well as 3 out of the 4 Written HW exercises.
- Each series of videos will contain lecture material and some exercises that you should try solving while watching the video. You should also work on the WebAssign exercises while watching these videos.
- We will meet in lecture on MW or TTh (depending on your lecture section) to discuss the content of the videos, cover more examples and give you time to get started on the weekly assignments. You should have watched the videos and tried the exercises beforehand, since the material will be assumed to be known during these meetings.
- After the end of those in-person meetings, you will be familiar with all the material to finish the WebAssign exercises and work on the written homework. The WebAssign exercises are due by Thursday at midnight – you should do those first (start working on them while you are watching the videos). The written homework will be more challenging and due by midnight on Fridays.
- In recitation, you will cover more examples, and discuss with your TA to solidify your knowledge. At least 30 minutes before the recitation time ends, your TA will give you the prompt for the final Written HW exercise – you should get started on it in groups and ask your TA for input and clarification.
