Welcome and Section Information
Welcome to Algebra, Trigonometry and Functions!
In this course we will prepare you for the rigors of the NYU Calculus sequence. Specifically, you will work with a standard library of single variable functions in order to understand their algebraic and geometric properties. These functions will form the foundations of a mathematical toolbox on which you will rely throughout any future mathematics course.
In addition, this course serves as preparation for MATH-UA 120 Discrete Mathematics, MATH-UA 131 Mathematics for Economics I, and MATH-UA 140 Linear Algebra as well as some courses in other departments (such as chemistry and economics). Topics include: intermediate algebra and trigonometry; algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions and their graphs.
