“As Dunbar (2006, 8) asserted, microaggressions can be identified at several stages throughout archival work, and can manifest in the methods of organization, or the language chosen for description. Racial and ethnic descriptors have the potential to maintain normative hierarchies within the records ‘(re)enforcing racial bias and the interests of dominant power structures’.”
