Paula De Stefano is the Barbara Goldsmith Curator for Preservation and has been head of the Preservation Department at New York University Libraries since 1988. She has a BA in English literature from Marymount Manhattan College; an MS in library science from Columbia University; a post-graduate Certificate in Preservation Administration from Columbia University; and a post-graduate certificate in Archival Management and Historical Editing from New York University. Ms. De Stefano is a member of the Society of American Archivists, the Association of Moving Image Archivists, and the American Libraries Association. She served as adjunct faculty for Long Island University, School of Library and Information Science from 1994-1997; Pratt University, School of Library and Information Science, Brooklyn, NY, from 1998-2001, and has been an adjunct professor in the Archives and Public History program, at New York University, teaching an introduction to preservation for archives since 1998. She has published articles on topics of importance to library and archives preservation.
