Check out APH Alum Jacqueline Rider’s  first “deliverable” as digital archivist at Princeton Theological Seminary

APH Alum Jacqueline Rider has designed a digital exhibit dedicated to the life of George Whitefield, a key figure in colonial America’s religious Great Awakening, 1714-1770. This exhibit marks the 300th anniversary of his birth.  Special Collections at Princeton Theological Seminary Library holds several items pertaining to Whitefield’s ministry, including his hand-written journal dating 1744-1746. The Theological Commons, a digital library of 79,332 books and periodicals on theology and religion hosted by Princeton Theological Seminary Library, contains digital editions of works by and about Whitefield from several institutions.

Announcing SAA’s Archival Fundamentals Series III Edited by Peter Wosh!

SAA will be producing the Archival Fundamental Series III, which will provide the core knowledge needed by archivists to work effectively with records/archives and papers/manuscripts—both analog and digital—in the twenty-first century.  SAA has recruited an outstanding group of authors to contribute to the series which will be edited by our very own Peter Wosh! The first books in this seven volume series are slated for publication in 2017, and the entire series issued by 2019. The Archival Fundamentals Series III will be useful to students in archives programs and related information professions, as well as to practicing professionals, and it will speak to issues affecting the full range of institutional profiles reflected in SAA.

Documentary film by APH Alum debuts this weekend at the Red Hook Film Festival!

This weekend the Red Hook Film Festival will debut, “Red Hook Lost and Found,” a short, documentary film by APH alum, Connor Gaudet. In this documentary, Red Hook resident and historian, Connor Gaudet sets out to find Red Hook’s original coastline through a comparative study of historic maps, texts, objects and the landscape itself, debunking historical neighborhood legends and making some interesting discoveries in the process.
