Call for Articles

Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York

Student Section

Metropolitan Archivist, the newsletter for the Archivists Round Table, has a section written for and by students in archives programs in the New York metropolitan area. We invite you, as up and coming archivists, to write about your view of the profession and/or any issues you think are important, especially for students or new archivists. This could include opinion pieces, news, or events. Photographs accompanying the articles of students in action are welcome. Articles can be short blurbs or longer essays, but are not to exceed 750 words.

To find out more about the Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York and to view past issues of the newsletter, go to http://www.nycarchivists.org/. Though you do not have to be a member to submit an article, student membership in the Archivists Round Table is free.

The deadline for article proposals is:

September 20, 2010

Please submit all proposals and questions through email to Amanda Brown at ny.archivists.roundtable@gmail.com. I would be happy to discuss any ideas you may have.

If your article is selected, I will get back to you by September 25, 2010 to discuss finalizing your article. The deadline for submitting final articles is October 25, 2010.
