I am sad to report that Stuart Glass, who matriculated in the archives program from 2001-2003 and has been working since then on a variety of archival projects at institutions ranging from the New York Stock Exchange to Lincoln Center, passed away unexpectedly over the weekend. Stuart discovered archives after retiring from a very distinguished legal career, which included a stint as corporate counsel at Columbia University. Anyone who attended classes with Stuart will recall his “dry wit and deadpan manner” as accurately described in the New York Times obituary. Services will be held at the Riverside Memorial Chapel on Amsterdam Avenue and 79th Street this Wednesday at 1:15. He will be missed.
