StoryCorps is an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to provide Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of our lives. Our interns are intelligent, curious, motivated, and resourceful individuals devoted to inspiring and assisting everyday Americans in recording their stories in sound. Internships are available in both the Program and the Operations side of our Peabody Award-winning nonprofit organization.
StoryCorps offers two sessions of intern opportunities: Winter/Spring (from January to June) and Summer/Fall (from June to December). Fall, Spring, and Summer-only internships are available on a case-by-case basis, but preference will be given to candidates able to commit to one of the two full length internship sessions.
Unless otherwise noted, StoryCorps interns work in the morning (9:30 am–1:30 pm) or in the afternoons (1:30–5:30 pm) Monday through Friday for a total of 20 hours per week. StoryCorps provides a weekly stipend of $55 to help cover lunch and transportation expenses. Our interns take part in a fast-paced, supportive, and creative work environment at our offices in Brooklyn, New York.
We are now accepting applications for available Winter/Spring internships which runs from January 10, 2011, through May 27, 2011. The application deadline is November 1, 2010. Please apply early.
