Project Description: 

The survey I have created for HeartShare POM outcomes questions is in a Keynote presentation, where either the person conducting, or the person receiving the survey can conduct it through the > arrow and space bar on the keyboard. The survey is not interactive, but it does require agency to move between questions. Each slide and question has an audio component paired with it: the audio states the question and explains the visual components on the page. A person would conduct this survey on a computer, pacing through the questions as slow or fast depending on the nature of each individual survey. The person conducting the survey can choose to record the responses in whichever way they deem best.

Reflection Questions:

I chose to add the audio component because it ensures that any person getting surveyed will receive a standardized form. The audio component also amplifies an experience for someone who can see, and could benefit from a more detailed explanation. Whether necessary for the person being surveyed or not, the description adds a layer of analysis on what question is asking detailing the “purpose of the question”. I drastically changed the diction of the questions – by making them plain language and by creating new frameworks for abstracts concepts, I created a more approachable survey while still approaching the fundamental, deeper questions. 

Post-evaluation reflection:

I got all of the information I needed, and recognized that the audio component really heightened the quality of the survey. The explanation of the questions, concepts, and visual language on the slides really pushed for the person being surveyed to reflect on their answers. The last icon in the survey is too abstract – it needs to be simplified and broken down, as it does not click upon first impression (update: edited). I think overall, the language of my survey paired with the audio component created an effective way to approach complicated questions for all peoples. One cool thing about the medium as well is that because it is a slides – flow keynote, which can be sent and downloaded throughout computers and accounts, it is a survey that can be altered and updated as necessary. I really tried to keep it as simple and logical as possible while still touching on deeper concepts.
