Concept
Before lockdown, I went to the old town to take photos. I happened to photograph the window of an abandoned factory. I ended up choosing it because of its interesting composition and contrast between light and dark. When looking at the part I image alone one has a desire to peek inside: what is inside this window? What has it been through? But when you try to look at the part II image to get an answer, you will find that the response is misplaced and chaotic – symbolizing the abandonment of this factory. They are the creations of the old days, abandoned without anyone wanting to learn about them. Meanwhile, modern neon skyscrapers similar to the feeling conveyed by this red-white-blue palette are under construction. This is also what I felt when I walked around the old town – it’s not technically an old town anymore, but an abandoned urban village.
