Title
Virtual Reality
Description
Under the background of the pandemic, most of us are highly restricted by the situation and the policy of COVID. However, the will in our mind that travel around the world has not disappeared. To express this feeling in my mind, I want to build a micro-landscape that can let me feel the happiness of traveling without limits and worries. In addition, the gadget can cure the people who are hurt by the pandemic since it should be cute and aesthetical.
The top of the box is the place where the landscape appears. It can be modular and be changed to different sceneries. The main character also appears in the scenes. It will be controlled by the user through the computer. Under the top sceneries, is the control structure. Two servos will connect to the rail under the magnet to control its position, the character has a magnet too. In this case, we can control the character using the servo and the magnet. Using computer control, we can make it move around in the scenes.

Title
Wake Me Up PLZ
Description
Through close observation and oral surveys, I found a huge amount of people who live in modern cities are struggling and frustrated when getting up in the morning. Some of them feel depressed and uncomfortable when they wake up by the noisy alarm. Some of them often miss the wake-up alarm and are late for work or school. Some of them even developed muscle memory which is to turn off the alarm once it goes off. To deal with the situation, I intend to develop an interactive alarm that is designed for those who feel trouble waking up in the morning. The interactive alarm can gently wake people up and also can make sure that they won’t miss the alarm.
In this project, the alarm has two functions. The first one is the alarm that can know the time and accept input from the user to set the alarms. The second function uses a camera to determine whether the user has woken up. When the set time has arrived, the alarm will vibrate and play soft music at first. If the camera sees the user hasn’t woken up, the music will become louder and louder. The style of the music will turn to rock music too. To avoid being turned off quickly and easily, the user needs to hold the alarm and shake it violently or do some sports with it. After a short period of “workout” with the alarm, the user won’t feel sleepy anymore and will not miss the alarm.

Title
Duplicate Drawing Pad
Description
When we are drawing sketches or paintings, we can only choose to draw them with pens and paints or digitally. I want to invent a drawing pad that can let the drawer draw the paintings both physically can digitally. The slight difference between physical and digital work can also tell the audience that the digital drawing will not completely instead the physical one.
I think using two liner potentiometer can help me do the project. One potentiometer determines the x-axis value while the other determines the y-axis value. The stroke weight will refer to a pressure sensor at the bottom of the canvas.
