Amber and I worked together again for recitation 9! We design the component according to the instruction. After struggled a lot to find out how to draw curves, my designs are like this⬇️
When comes to the laser cutting part, Amber’s part was too delicate to be cut (if go cutting, we will only get a few pieces), so professor Andy added several ellipses to save the joint. That’s really a lesson!
The real obstacle happened when we tried to compose them. Firstly, there must be something wrong with the prepared wooden board of the pedestal. The designed place for the servo motor was just the size, however, there are cables connected to the motor so we couldn’t plug that in. Finally, I went to find a rasper and enlarged the rectangle. (Clever me!) The second problem was that the hole of the “fan leaves” is too small for the servo motor, so we had to use tape to bind them together (you can find out the disharmony in the video).
All in all, it’s interesting to learn a new skill for our final project!
