Amelia’s Visual Metaphor Proposal

III.  Concept | Storyline: 

       1). What is the piece (article, poem, story) for the narrative voiceover?  Or who are you going to interview? 

          The VoiceOver will keep changing. Sometimes, it’s from the perspective of the main character, sometimes it’s from the outsider

       2). What’s the story about?  

The story is about a person who lost their loved ones, so they created an AI to comfort them. That person kept saying loving words to the AI and teaching it about love and loss. The AI will answer the person with famous words from the books and keep his smiling face. However, the person doesn’t feel comforted. One day, the AI caught a virus and lose its ability to respond to the human’s words. When the human comes home, they kept talking to the AI but the AI can’t reply. At that time, the AI finally realized the feeling of loss. So it wants to comfort the human who is crying in front of it because the AI doesn’t reply. However, without the database, the AI does not know what to say. So it replied the first word the human says to the AI every single day but adds something by itself. Finally, the AI said, “I miss you, too” and completely died. The whole system collapsed. Leaving the human feeling comforted. The human then began a new life.

       3). Which part of the story are you going to focus on? 

I’m going to focus on the part where the AI finally realizes what it meant to lose something

       4). What kind of style/aesthetics are you going to pursue?

   I want to use the style of Wang Jiawei.

IV.  Execution Plan: 

       1). What equipment are you going to use when shooting the movie? (cell phone, DSLR camera, sound recorder, stabilizer..)

I think we need a phone, sound recorder, and stabilizer

       2). Which locations will it be shot at? When is it? Daytime/night/unknown? Why?

It will be shot at the dorm at dawn. 

       3). What are some challenges you might encounter and how will you prepare?

the challenge is that my Pr breaks down and we may need to soot most of the scene by ourselves.

       4). How will you collaborate? How will you divide work? (Gantt Chart below*)

Amelia will do most of the work before editing and Xiangyi will do most of the editing work.
