I recently transitioned from University Human Resources to Finance and Employee Systems & Services (FESS). For the last two years I have supported NYU Returns in various capacities to help NYU employees, students, and external populations with addressing the range of challenges associated with COVID-19.

Very few colleges or universities offer the breadth of opportunities.
Any advice for new administrators?
Get on a division / school-wide or university-wide project. Regardless of your role, it’s a great way to network, get in front of leaders, and learn the ins and outs of the university or that specific division/school.
What does a normal day look like for you?
Regardless if I’m commuting into the office or remoting, each morning I assess possible fires. On any given day I can work on everything from ensuring the smooth running operations or troubleshooting of various global systems such as the staff/administrator ATS or learning management system or to provide consultation or input on various global projects.

Besides tuition remission, discounts on tickets to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, sporting events, and musical concerts through ScholasTix.

YouTube: I like to support various educational content creators and watch the occasional Tik-Tok.
