What kind of projects do you work on?
Great question!  I work on a number of projects but the main projects would be managing the annual budget upload process.  FAS is the largest school at NYU.  We have a budget of over $500 million dollars and it is very complicated.  I also work on the quarterly variance analysis, annual budget presentation, and other tuition revenue-based projects for our Dean.  These are just a few of the major projects that I work on.

Any advice for new administrators?
My biggest piece of advice for new administrators is do not be afraid to ask lots of questions.  NYU is a huge institution with many departments, various financial and educational systems, and many policies that you will need to learn in order to fulfill your job duties.  It will be impossible to learn all of this on your own.  I have received so much support from my colleagues during my time at NYU.  No question is too big or small so never second guess anything you need to know.  Take lots of notes!  Also, ask your HR representative about setting you up with a buddy that has a similar job that can be a sort of mentor.  This is something we do and promote at FAS and it seems to work really well.  Lastly, take advantage of the various i-Learn courses that we have available.  I have found them to be extremely helpful over the years.  There are courses on our various policies, technological systems, and even professional development.

What is your fondest memory in your time here?
I have many fond memories at NYU but my fondest memories are being nominated to take part in many of the working groups.  Being a part of these working groups allowed me to have input on changes to some of our policies and financial systems.  For instance, I was a part of the UDW+ working group and I actually helped develop that system!  This was very important to me because this is a system that I heavily rely on for my job.

Coffee or Tea?
Tea hands down!  People normally look at me strangely when I tell them I don’t drink coffee lol!  I love herbal teas, yummy!

Favorite travel destination?
Aruba is one of my favorite travel destinations.  They do not get hurricanes, the beaches are amazing and the food is great.  They call it one happy island for a reason!
