What kind of projects do you work on?
I grossly oversee online and on-campus CSD graduate student applications including responding to prospective student inquiries. I work closely with Graduate Admissions and our tech partner, 2U throughout each admissions cycle. Additionally, I facilitate experiential learning opportunities (i.e. field placements) for our CSD graduate students. This includes communication and support of our students’ supervisors and assuring students meet all requirements for professional and state licensure.
What’s your role in the AMC?
I am excited to be a new member of the AMC Nominations and Elections Committee!
Any advice for new administrators?
I can’t stress this enough- join AMC’s Mentoring Program! It is a great opportunity to learn more about NYU, develop, and further refine your personal professional goals.
What is your fondest memory of your time here?
Presenting at the 2019 ASHA Conference with the rest of the Clinical Field Placement Team, Dr. Maria Brea, and Prof. Alicia Morrison. It has always been a goal of mine to present at this conference and I was beyond thrilled and honored to do it with others in the Department of CSD. Although the 2020 ASHA Conference was canceled, I am looking forward to presenting again. Fingers crossed!
Name your favorite spot on campus.
NYU Steinhardt Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic’s waiting room. It is a warm and inviting room with a great view of Bond Street. The Clinic also serves a dual purpose as the primary location for the majority of the Department of CSD’s office spaces. That being said, in the spirit of working remotely, I have enjoyed my Zoom room and seeing all of the fun, virtual backgrounds. 🙂
