The most interesting point that I conceptulized from reading these two texts is the involvement of our bodies in the interactive installation. For instance, Nathaniel Stern points out that “with enter, for example, we move-think-feel the making of bodies and meaning, together” to emphasize the importance of our bodies to create meaningful experiences. And in the “Interactive Installation” chapter, the author also brings up the point how the audience is placed in an “awkward” situation with they are placed in an interactive installation as a result. As a result, they are forced to use their bodies in unfamiliar ground to explore something new from the installation.
In addition, I want to bring up the first interactive installation the Nathaniel Stern had installed. I think it is very simple but “interactive” in the sense that it fits well with the definitions that are brought up the two articles. The installation clearly focuses on the involvement of the body as well as gives room of exploration to the audience who wants figure out what is going on on the screen in front of them. Thus, they will use their bodies and be active instead of being inactive.
From these two articles, the main points that I get include the importance of the involvement of the audience in the installations and the audience should be the one who is placed on the spot in the installation.
