Responses: A Brief Rant on the Future of Interaction Design (Response 4)

I quite enjoyed Victor’s response to the responses he received for his rant. Other than his sassiness, I have a better grasp of what Victor is thinking. Although he does not provide a solution (hence why it’s a rant), he raises certain important points while raising awareness of finding a solution for a new dynamic medium. Another important point that he brings up is that  we’re slowly giving up on our body. Take classes and university for example: we sit in class for its entire duration and then do work sitting down at a desk. Furthermore, Victor worries about our daily activities being mediated by a computer. I disagree with him here. The combination of a computer that mediates our daily activity, such as virtual reality, is fascinating to me. As an avid gamer, the concepts of virtual reality would be a dream come true: being able to experience video games firsthand is something extraordinary. Once we are able to accurately combine our movements with the digital world, it’d be an impressive and revolutionary feat.
