For a while humans have laid their hands on some of the greatest blessings this earth has to offer… and sadly these blessings go by and get extremely exploited for our satisfaction. Nature just going by its normal day, until the first signs of human settlement come by with the ships and people walking along the shore. At first, it is the most beautiful sight to withhold with kids playing with their little plastic toy shovels and marbles, and a big beautiful sign that confirms the humans claim of the land as a beach. The red-handed human leaves around trash as they get too comfortable with this blessing not realizing the many organisms that are living off of this area. The turtles, the fish… All soon to be extinct if the atrocious acts carry on. What was once taken for human pleasure and satisfaction suddenly sounds counterintuitive now.
This all in all raises awareness of the trash that we don’t even seem to notice at times completely ruin our beaches and nature overall because our presentation shows the impact quite directly and concisely.
There were a few difficulties here and there with the materials and being able to bring it all together, like for example using glue to stick the bottle caps on the wooden canvas in order to convey an image of a plastic sea. Using a glue gun was quite inefficient, and we resorted to using regular white glue from a stationary store. From our failures in the making of this project we took away understanding, and from our accomplishments such as managing to convey our idea in a stop motion video gave us pure joy and pride.
Finally, if I were to critique our project I would say that we could have better used the university’s resources and film equipment to create a more professional stop motion video.
