For the trash collection at the Park Hyatt Beach I expected there to be plastic bottles and trash near the shoreline where the waves hit the beach. My thinking was proven wrong when the closer to the shoreline I got, the cleaner the beach became. I guess the beach is regularly cleaned for trashes or the waters around the beach do not get trash thrown into them. Most of the waste that I picked up were around the vines/shrubs area which were quite far away from the beach. The beach was really windy so the trash must have swept away to those areas and stayed stuck there due to the intermingling of the sharp vines. The type of trash I picked up were primarily food waste and must have been there for a while as they seem discoloured. I also picked up pieces of plastic foam which isn’t surprising considering the prevalence of it in packaging.
My own experience of the trip was exciting at first as I was doing some good in the world haha, but this quickly changed to despair (being a bit dramatic here) as it was getting hotter and I had no more water with me. Additionally, the vines were quite annoying to navigate, due to how tangled they were. I was also let down by the inconsistency of the trash since the ones I picked up doesn’t seem to have a theme that I can work on for the sculpture. Here are some of the trash I picked up:

I think there was more trash hidden between the bushes. I imagine people from the hotel clean up the beach regularly, so that’s why it looks kind of clean.
