Our group had ideas about what we wanted to make for our sculpture so we went into the beach cleanup with an idea of the various objects we could make use of. Initially I went in expecting to find countless Nurdles, plastic bottles, bottle caps, plastic bags, food wrappers and cigarette buds as these are the most common trash items found on beaches. To my surprise however, the beach we visited was quite clean and presentable. We were able to find minimal trash after about 3 hours of searching. The majority of the trash we collected on the beach was bottles and bottle caps. We also found a single flipflop and 2 plastic shovels that were most likely toys that some kids left behind.
Overall the beach was quite clean so we only managed to find a few other objects such as plastic straws, paper straws, wooden slabs, and colorless glass marbles. When we first arrived on the beach it was quite windy but as the hours went by it began getting hotter which made it harder to collect trash as the sand was beginning to heat up. At around noon we decided to call it a day.

I assume many of the trash is cleaned by the hotel staff. I think there was more trash in the places nearby where they don’t clean so often, like parking place and between the bushes.
