Optical cavities are the basic functional system for integrated optics. In this seminar session, we will first see how the elemental optical cavity, a waveguide, can be used for many different purposes. First, we present an analysis of optical using plasmonic metal nanoparticles to generate irreplaceable responses from integrated silicon systems. The devices show a promising response, offering an easy-to-implement methodology to enhance generated photonic secure labels.
