Marwa Banna
I am an Assistant Professor in Mathematics at New York University Abu Dhabi. Between 2016 and 2020, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Saarland University within the free probability research group of Roland Speicher. Prior to that, I was a CNRS postdoctoral researcher at Télécom ParisTech hosted by Walid Hachem. In September 2015, I obtained my Ph.D. degree from Université Paris-Est, supervised by Florence Merlevède and Emmanuel Rio.
NEWS:
- Open Postdoc Position: We are seeking to hire a postdoc to work mainly on free probability and random matrices. Candidates with expertise or interest in related areas such as matrix concentration inequalities, the mathematical aspects of quantum information theory, and neural networks are encouraged to apply.
- I have joined the editorial board of the journal Mathematical Physics, Analysis, and Geometry (MPAG). The section on Probability Theory and Statistical Physics is expanding and specifically welcoming papers on Random Matrices and Free Probability Theory for consideration in the review process.
- Together with Moritz Weber, I have organized a conference on Quantum Information Theory and Free Probability at NYUAD between January 8-12, 2024.
