About Machine
The Silhouette curio vinyl cutter is an electronic machine that is used for cutting through materials, embossing, etching, sketching and stippling. The machine can cut through paper, vinyl, fabric, and thick materials including wood. It is a great machine for creating DIY projects due to its ability to emboss and sketch.

How To Set Up Machine
- Make sure the power cable is plugged into the wall
- Connect the USB cable to a computer in order to use the Silhouette software
- Lift the curios lid to find 2 storage slots on each side in the interior
- Here you can store tools in order to cut/sketch
- You can adjust blade depth here to match material inserted in machine
- Place your chosen mat on top of the platforms
- A small plastic snap will hold the mat in place
- Now you’re ready to load the base containing the base/platforms into the machine
- If the curio is powered off when inserting the base, push the base into the curio so the notch on the base is pushed beyond the front edge of the curio
- Then press the power button on the side of machine
- Now the curio will automatically move the base and carriage to their right positions
- If it was already powered on, then press load/unload button (it has two arrows on it) to unlock rollers and allow you to insert the base
- Once base is pushed beyond the front edge of the curio, press load/unload button again to move to proper positions
- Once that is set and your machine is connected to the computer, open the Silhouette Studio Software
- The program will automatically unlock advanced software settings for etching, stippling, and embossing
- Here you can import or create designs in the software
- Once finalized, you can send the project design to the curio machine by clicking on the cut settings icon then click send to silhouette at the bottom of the screen
- If you need to pause during a job then click the pause button on the side of the machine where a yellow light will appear
- You can then click load/unload button to unlock rollers and allow you to remove the base and observe it
- Then you can reinsert the base and press load/unload button so the curio will return the carriage to the position it was previously in
- Press the pause button again to resume
- To cancel, press and hold down the pause button for five seconds
